Electrical Assembly Technician

Trillium Professional has a direct hire opportunity in Sterling Heights, MI for an Electrical Assembly Technician.

The Electrical Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling and wiring electrical and mechanical components for defense systems, ensuring adherence to strict quality and safety standards. This role requires expertise in both electrical and mechanical systems, and an understanding of IPC standards and electrical safety practices.

Key Responsibilities:
-Assemble electrical and mechanical components for complex defense systems, such as aircraft, submarines, or military vehicles.
-Wire and install circuit boards, connectors, and other electrical components by engineering specifications.
-Ensure that all systems meet industry standards (IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-610) and pass necessary quality control checks.
-Perform testing on electrical systems and troubleshoot any issues or malfunctions in the assembly.
-Work with engineering teams to ensure design specifications are met and provide feedback on system performance during assembly.
-Follow all applicable safety protocols, including ESD (electrostatic discharge) precautions and electrical safety procedures.
-Maintain accurate records of work performed, including assembly logs and quality control data.
-Adhere to defense industry security compliance and documentation standards.

Required Qualifications:
-High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
-Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical and mechanical assembly, ideally within the defense, aerospace, or electronics industries.
-IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 certifications required.
-Experience with IPC/WHMA-A-620 (wire harness) standards.
-ESD certification required.
-Ability to interpret complex electrical and mechanical schematics and technical drawings.
-Strong attention to detail and ability to work under strict quality controls.
-Ability to pass background checks and obtain required security clearances.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience working with military or aerospace electrical systems.
-Previous work on high-reliability defense systems.
