Slitting Line Packer needed ASAP in Stow, OH!
A well-established industrial metals distribution center in Stow is seeking a Slitting Line Support Technician for their second shift operations. This facility processes various metal products in multiple shapes and sizes.
This is a Contract-to-hire (90-day evaluation period).
Shift: 2nd Shift | 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM.
Pay Rate: $18/hour for entry-level candidates.
- Up to $20/hour based on experience with forklifts, metal slitting, or related equipment
- Overtime: Required as business needs demand (including some Saturdays)
This role supports the Slitting Machine Operator in safely and accurately processing metal sheets into strips of specific widths. The Slitting Line Support Technician plays a key role in quality assurance, equipment setup, and adherence to safety protocols.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist operator with setup, production, and inspections
- Monitor material flow during operations and report any safety or quality concerns
- Maintain clear communication with the operator during production runs
- Package finished materials according to detailed specifications
- Support machine operator in documenting quality inspections and reports
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area
- Follow all company safety guidelines and wear PPE at all times
- Carry out other production-related duties as needed
Secondary Tasks:
- Ensure clear walkways and a hazard-free environment
- Help manage continuous material movement and workflow

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 years in a manufacturing or machine shop environment preferred
- Prior slitter machine experience is a plus
- Forklift certification required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read job specs and follow detailed instructions
- Must demonstrate solid math skills, including converting fractions/decimals
- Comfortable using precision tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift
