Quality Assurance Technician

Trillium has an immediate opening for a QA Technician in Carrington!

This Temp-to-Hire opportunity is perfect for a motivated candidate ready to join our facility as a valuable QA Technician. This role is critical to ensuring we keep our consumable product safe and of the highest quality by performing product safety and quality reviews on production and packaging processes, and evaluating all finished goods. As a valuable partner to Operations, you’ll effectively identify and communicate product safety and quality problems to the involved departments. Key Responsibilities:
-Collect and test finished products to ensure they meet customer and HACCP standards.
-Carry out a variety of quality analysis tests.
-Measure product samples and report on any out-of-spec dies.
-Conduct essential inspections for incoming ingredients, outgoing products, and any returns.
-Manage and examine retention samples to monitor product quality over time.
-Spot any products that don’t meet standards or have safety concerns, then investigate and suggest fixes.
-Regularly audit production and packaging floors to verify correct product details like shape, specs, storage, and labeling.
-Verify that all product codes on packaging are precise and match customer requirements.
-Detect potential product safety risks and problems.
-Isolate any non-conforming product from production and advise relevant departments on its handling.
-Keep precise records of product analysis, including logging, storage, and expiry dates, to ensure top quality.
-Prepare marketing samples for shipping, ensuring correct labeling and secure packing to prevent damage.
-Keep operations informed on product quality, and coordinate with warehouse teams on approvals and lot codes.
-Collaborate with managers to proactively develop and apply improvements to procedures and programs for ongoing product safety.
-Team up with leadership to find and action continuous improvement opportunities in safety, product safety, quality, productivity, and sanitation.
-Carry out additional assigned duties.

This position offers a staggered 12-hour workday schedule. Weekly Schedule: 3 days on and 4 days off, then 4 days on and 3 days off. Shift: 12:00 PM - 12:00 AM. The pay rate for this position is $21.00 per hour.

Education and Experience Required:
-Must hold a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential.
-Availability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
-Lift/carry up to 50 pounds for 3+ hours per shift.
-Lift/carry 11 to 34 pounds for 6+ hours per shift.

Preferred Skills & Experience:
-A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry) is a definite advantage.
-Prior experience in quality assurance (QA) testing is beneficial.
-Familiarity with DGPC products and procedures is a strong asset.
