Structural Welder - Per Diem Offered

Trillium Construction is now seeking Structural Welders for a long term Naval Base Project in Norfolk, VA!

Trillium is looking to hire several Structural Welders that are proficient in Carbon Steel AWS D1.1.

Weld tests will be SMAW 3/8” plate 1/4” root opening with backing. Must use 1/8” wire. Max width of bead is 2.5 times diameter of the rod. 1/8” max cap height with stringers. Another test would be FCAW 3/8” Plate, 1/4” backing. Maximum width of bead is 5/8” stringer or weave. These will be done in 3G position, and tests need to be completed within 2 hours and 15 minutes. The job is on a Naval Base in Norfolk, VA. Shift will all be first shift starting at 6:30 AM and will be working 55 hours per week, typically working 6 days a week.

Pay is $48.18/hour as this is a prevailing wage job. Per diem will be $100/days worked for those that qualify. This is a long-term job as the work could last until 2026!!! The job will be welding and connecting beams, steel, and modules that were shipped to the base and need to be re-done. The work will be installed for a new refueling complex in the shipyard.
