Solar Project Manager

Trillium Construction is seeking a highly experienced Solar Project Manager to join our client’s team in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

This role is ideal for a hands-on, field-focused leader who thrives in fast-paced utility and commercial solar construction environments.

Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to Waukesha—this is not a remote or hybrid role. Relocation assistance up to $5,000 is available. Annual salary is up to $165,000/year.

Travel: 3–4 days/week to job sites (expenses paid). Workload: 75% on-site, 25% office-based.

What You’ll Do
-Lead and manage solar construction projects from pre-construction through final closeout
-Maintain responsibility for project financials, scheduling, quality, safety, and client satisfaction
-Oversee field productivity and drive project profitability with proactive problem solving
-Facilitate internal and external meetings, maintain contract compliance, and lead project communications
-Identify and document project delays or impacts and initiate corrective actions as needed
-Conduct regular job site visits across Southern Wisconsin, Northern Illinois, and eventually broader Midwest
-Provide safety leadership with weekly audits and incident reporting
-Work in-office when not traveling—approximately 25% of the time

Qualifications
-5+ years of experience managing solar construction projects
-Strong background in PV/DC systems, solar installations, and electrical systems
-Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
-Experience with project estimating and takeoffs
-Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel expertise required)
-Excellent communication and leadership skills
-Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
-Must be highly organized, self-motivated, and decisive under pressure
