Field Network Installation Technician
Trillium Professional is now seeking a Field Network Installation Technician for Southern California!
Pay rate is $30–$40 per hour (plus mileage reimbursement)
Travel: Local travel required within assigned zone; no overnight stays
We are staffing a statewide public safety upgrade project. Technicians will install a second pre-configured EDG communication device at existing sites to enhance system redundancy. This is a plug-and-play installation with basic networking work.
Key Responsibilities:
-Travel to assigned locations during business hours (no overnights or weekends)
-Follow a detailed installation guide to connect a pre-configured device to existing infrastructure
-Identify and access network equipment (switches, routers) and ensure proper cable routing
-Perform basic troubleshooting and remote testing support using PuTTY and terminal commands
-Call helpdesk support for live testing and verification
-Take clear before/after photos and submit closeout documentation by email
-Maintain professionalism, follow site access rules, and avoid discussing employer or pay at the site

Required Tools and Skills:
-Laptop with admin access, MS Teams/Webex, and PuTTY installed
Smartphone with camera
-Console cables (USB to RJ45 and/or Serial RJ45)
-Cable tester and label maker
-Working knowledge of networking hardware (switches, firewalls)
-Comfort with terminal/command-line tools (e.g., PuTTY, CMD)
-Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with remote support
Qualifications:
-2+ years of field service, network/IT support, or low-voltage install experience
-Must pass a background and drug screening
-Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
-Professional appearance (no logos, ripped clothing, or hats)
