Project Controls Engineer - Per Diem Offered
Trillium Construction is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Controls Engineer to join our site management team. This key role is integral to the successful execution of heavy industrial construction projects. The Project Controls Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, forecasting labor needs, and ensuring timely and accurate project reporting. The ideal candidate will be a proactive communicator and problem-solver, dedicated to driving schedule performance and supporting project goals related to time, cost, and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
-Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
-Lead weekly 3-week lookahead planning meetings with superintendents, general foremen, and field engineers to align on project execution strategies.
-Identify and recommend opportunities for schedule acceleration and productivity improvements.
-Input and verify project quantities in the budget tracking system.
-Monitor labor resources and provide accurate labor forecasts to the project team.
-Ensure that all internal and client-facing reports are accurate, complete, and submitted on schedule.
-Facilitate scheduling meetings with clients and subcontractors as required by the contract.
-Support the Project Manager with cash flow analysis, cost forecasting, and invoicing.
-Participate in subcontractor pre-mobilization meetings to ensure understanding of and adherence to scheduling and reporting requirements.
-Track subcontractor progress against schedule milestones and report any deviations.
-Organize and lead weekly subcontractor coordination meetings to align on execution plans.

Qualifications:
Education & Training:
-Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience in project controls or scheduling will be considered.
Experience:
-Minimum of 3 years of experience managing schedules on complex, heavy industrial construction projects.
Skills & Knowledge:
-Strong understanding of construction operations, scheduling principles (including CPM), and project coordination best practices.
-Proven ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and resource plans.
Technical Proficiency:
-Proficient in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and MS Office Suite.
-Familiarity with Navisworks is a plus.
