Department Supervisor - Printing & Converting position available with our client in Tyler, TX who is a leading manufacturer!

Direct hire opportunity with a salary range of $70k to $74k. Client company benefits available.  2nd shift position. 7 PM - 7 AM, 4 days on / 3 days off (rotating).

Are you ready to take charge and make an impact? Our client is looking for a motivated leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of their dynamic Printing and Converting Department. In this key role, you’ll ensure smooth operations, inspire your team, and help drive our success under the guidance of the Printing Manager or Converting Manager.

What You’ll Do as a Printing/Converting Department Supervisor:
-Problem-Solver Extraordinaire: Help operators troubleshoot and apply best practices to keep things running efficiently.
-Team Motivator: Energize and inspire your team to meet and exceed production targets.
-Efficiency Expert: Ensure quick and seamless changeovers that meet or beat established targets.
-Training Guru: Coach and train employees to follow standard operating procedures and boost production efficiency.
-Safety Champion: Promote a safety-first mindset, lead monthly safety meetings, and ensure everyone is following protocols.
-People Leader: Approve vacations, manage overtime, and handle employee relations with support from HR.

Management Responsibilities for the Printing/Converting Department Supervisor:
-Supervise and direct shift operators to keep the production floor humming.
-Guide your team through company policies and ensure compliance.
-Play an active role in hiring, coaching, and, if necessary, handling discipline.
-Collaborate with other departments like Maintenance, QA, and Operations to keep things running smoothly.

Who You’ll Work With:
-Operators: Ensure quality, efficiency, and performance on the production floor.
-Maintenance Team: Coordinate repairs, preventive maintenance, and special projects.
-Quality Assurance: Address any quality issues to keep our products at the highest standards.

Education & Experience
•    Minimum of H.S. Diploma, Technical or Engineering degree preferred
•    3 years in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a similar industry
•    2 years of supervisory experience
•    Working knowledge of flexographic printing processes preferred
•    Mechanical aptitude with an emphasis on light industrial equipment
•    Detail oriented with good organizational and managerial skills
•    Good Communication skills both written and verbal
•    Good interpersonal skills
•    Proficient in Microsoft office

-Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and coach a diverse team.
-Ability to work in a plant environment, moving safely around machinery and equipment.
-Regular use of computers and telephones to stay connected with the team.
