Welder

Niles company seeking an experienced MIG welder for possible long-term employment.

Duties include prepping steel and welding them into a unit that is ready for machining. The majority of the parts that the MIG welder will be welding are under 20 inches. Most of the work is repetitive parts. The workload is reasonable and manageable. Pay rate is $20.00 an hour. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Desired skillset of the MIG welder:
-Read Prints: Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and engineering plans.
-MIG welder will use the blueprints along with other data, such as work plans, to develop and design their welding projects.
-Fabrication involves laying out, cutting, measuring, and welding metal to create the required shape of the object. Must be highly detailed.
-Must constantly inspect welds and equipment. Welds are checked for durability as well as meeting specified standards and equipment must be examined to determine repairs.
-Ability to use variety of tools and equipment
-Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude
-Ability to read prints
-Knowledge of industry safety practices
-Knowledge of specific welding processes
-Experience with sandblasting
-Ability to use heavy machinery, such as forklifts and cranes
