Laser Operator
A growing industrial metal manufacturing company in Hilliard, OH is seeking a 2nd Shift Laser Operator to join its production team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow within a dynamic and quality-focused environment.
Initial training will take place on day shift (4:00AM - 2:30PM) for approximately 1–2 months before transitioning to 2nd shift.
Regular Shift Hours: 2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday, 2:30PM – 1:00AM, Fridays Off with Optional Overtime typically available. Pay rate is $24.88 – $27.25 (based on experience specific to laser operations). Shift Premium: Additional $1.50/hour.
The Laser Operator is responsible for operating laser cutting equipment and assisting with material handling for outbound shipments. This role includes setting up equipment, inspecting output for quality, and ensuring materials meet production specifications. A strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and problem-solving ability are key to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform startup and shutdown procedures on laser equipment
• Set cutting parameters and operate laser machinery
• Conduct regular equipment maintenance and ensure safe operation
• Measure and verify output against print specifications
• Operate a forklift for material handling
• Document production, material usage, and quality control issues
• Participate in preventative maintenance at the operator level
• Other duties as assigned or as operational needs evolve

Qualifications
• Strong math skills and proficiency in English (verbal and written)
• High attention to detail and quality inspection/measurement capabilities
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
• 3–5 years of experience as a laser operator or in a similar role preferred
• Minimum 6 months of prior manufacturing experience required
• Ability to read blueprints preferred
• Strong time management skills and ability to work independently
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude
• Must meet physical requirements (vision, hearing, and mobility)
• Successful candidates will also be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of onboarding and training.
