Principal Controls Engineer
Trillium Construction is hiring for a Principal Controls Engineer in Monroe, WI!
This is a full-time, direct-hire position! Individuals in this position will be working for an industrial, agricultural, and commercial electrical contractor and be responsible for delivering automation innovation strategy via industry leading solutions, and design best practices, Annual salary is between $115,000 - $140,000, plus benefits!
Duties:
-Commitment to company’s corporate values, strategies, and goals/objectives, to drive a culture of safety, customer service, quality, profitability, growth, and a merit shop philosophy.
-Oversight and development of market relevant technology solution platforms among key vendors, hardware devices, and software systems, especially with the incorporation of emergent technology.
-Act as Automation subject matter expert for key stakeholders among clients, vendors, service provider partners, and all divisions’ functions, project teams, and employee owners.
-Coordinate and lead internal project planning sessions to drive effective problem statement identification, solution development, technical designs, and constraints for the creation of client proposals that meet project scope, quality, price, and performance requirements.
-Drives continuous improvement via training activities among employees and end-users.
-Drive efficiency through the development of technical standard operating procedures, practices, processes, and methods.
-Quantifies the performance, status, risks, and mitigation action plans for Automation’s portfolio of projects.
-Develop control system applications, conduct system testing and validation, troubleshooting and resolving system issues and working to continuously improve existing processes.
-Field engineering duties, as needed to include system start up and commissioning, and troubleshooting.
-Define and document control system designs, requirements, test plans and results.
-Cost and schedule estimation support.
-Supply Chain collaboration and support.
-Investigate, analyze, and resolve complex problems

Qualifications:
-BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and equivalent experience.
-10+ years of automation/controls/engineering experience, and 5+ years of controls engineering design experience.
-Experience in the design of industrial plants and warehouses, central chilled water and heating plants, water pumping stations and wastewater treatment plants, food and dairy plants along with manufacturing and CIP processes.
-Thorough knowledge of industry relevant technology, regulations, trends, and practices: PLC, HMM, Motion Control, Networking, Vision Systems, Data Collection; among Rockwell and Ignition.
-Working knowledge to interpret regional and international code requirements such as NEC, NFPA, CSA, CE, IEC & etc.
-Project management experience.
-Ability to formulate, initiate, and administer technical solutions, and make independent judgments.
-Personal computer skills: Microsoft Office products.
-Excellent verbal and written communications skills; Ability to communicate professionally with all levels internally and externally
