Maintenance Mechanic
The Senior Maintenance Mechanic reports to the shift supervisor and involves highly skilled troubleshooting and preventative maintenance, and repair of complex electro-mechanical equipment, including electronic controls, conveyor systems, production machinery, and support equipment. The Senior Maintenance Mechanic is seen as the expert resource in the plant that can fix all/most equipment and is responsible for not only executing technical work but also for teaching and mentoring junior mechanics and apprentices, sharing knowledge on troubleshooting techniques and schematics interpretation. This role plays a major role in ensuring the uninterrupted continuity of manufacturing and support systems and processes throughout the facility.
What You’ll Do:
-Maximize uptime utilizing expert knowledge and troubleshooting techniques with electrical systems including power distribution, motor controls, variable speed controllers, robotics, automated packaging machinery, process equipment including pumps, valves, meters and mixing equipment.
-Analyze equipment performance, troubleshoot to isolate problem, and determine (and perform) actions needed to restore system to performance specifications.
-Lead the diagnosis and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment issues, using technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
-Perform routine preventive maintenance to enhance equipment performance and minimize downtime.
-Identify and replace defective components, ensuring high standards of machinery operation.
-Participate as necessary in new projects to install or improve the safety and performance of existing and new equipment.
-Mentor and assist junior mechanics, fostering skill development and troubleshooting capabilities.
-Experience in welding/fabrication. May conduct welding (stick, MIG, TIG) and operate machine tools (lathe, Bridgeport, drill press) as needed.
Shifts are:
2pm-1030pm
1030pm-6am
Sunday through Thursday, or Tuesday through Saturday.
Saturday and Sunday Shifts are 6am-6pm;6pm-6am
$55/hr, willing to do relocation package for the right candidate.

What You’ll Bring:
-5+ years of maintenance experience, ideally including experience at an OEM or similar
-Expert in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs of industrial equipment and facilities including working knowledge of mechanical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and facility systems (hot water, compressed air, refrigeration.)
Experience in food processing required; experience with packaging machinery preferred
-MA Fireman 2 License and/or Ammonia Operator 1 Certification preferred
-Advanced knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic power systems, conveyor systems, or control systems
-Knowledge of PLC’s is required
-Initiative, critical thinking, complex problem solving, judgement and decision making, persistence, attention to detail, adaptability, flexibility, concern for others and leadership
-Utilize CMMS, identify trends, and use data to drive improvements to preventative maintenance process
-Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP/GMP) requirements.
-Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics and repair instructions.
-Requires strong communication skills (interpersonal, written and verbal), as well as ability to calculate figures and amounts as needed
-Capable of defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, experimenting and drawing valid conclusions
-Ability to learn new information quickly (i.e. maintenance and administrative technology, changes in controls)
MUST HAVES:
Must be able to work 1 day on the weekends.
