Vehicle Mechanic
Our client in Benton Harbor, MI is seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanic to join their team.
As a marine mechanic you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining marine engines, propulsion systems, and other related equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in either auto or marine mechanics, and good problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Inspect & diagnose issues with outboard or inboard motors
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on engines and other related equipment
• Conduct through inspections to identify potential problems and recommend necessary repairs
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues in an efficient and timely manner
• Repair and install parts and accessories in boats such as but not limited to props, starters alternators, bilge pumps, steering cables, electric anchors, depth gauges, etc.
• Rig new engines on pontoon boats.
• Change oil.
• Ability to lift at least 50lbs
• Perform physically demanding tasks such as standing, bending, crawling into tight spaces
Pay is $20- $25 based on experience. Hours 8:30-5pm Monday- Friday (hours may vary during peak season. This is a contract to hire opportunity or direct hire with the right experience.
Schedule:
• Full time.
• Be able to work weekends and holidays.
• Overtime available during peak seasons.

Requirements
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
• Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Marine Technician experience is preferred but not required.
