Technical Writer
Trillium Professional has a long-term opportunity in Ann Arbor, MI for a Technical Writer.
As a Technical Writer, you’ll:
-Create and/or copywrite artifacts such as product documentation, release notes, API documentation, user guides, and manuals for customers and internal stakeholders to understand when and how to use the tools effectively.
-Develop and maintain user guides, technical manuals, and other user documentation using AsciiDoc and tools like Mermaid for diagramming.
-Work directly with subject matter experts to gather information, create content, and obtain approvals using strong interpersonal skills and customer service skills.
-Ensure all documentation is version-controlled using Git and maintain consistency and quality across all documentation.
-Install, run, and document the software in Linux environments to provide accurate and practical user documentation.
-Monitor user feedback to identify gaps in the documentation and take the initiative to find them.
-Collaborate across multiple geographies and time zones.

Requirements
-Bachelor’s degree in technical writing, computer science, or a related field
-5+ years of experience creating technical documentation for complex software products
-Technical competency to use and experience the software tools for which documentation is being crafted
-Experience using Linux, including:
command-line tools, shell scripting, system administration tasks, installing and running complex software systems, and troubleshooting
-Proficiency in AsciiDoc and G
-Strong interest in the automotive industry, software development, and validation tools
-Familiarity with documentation workflows and best practices
-Excellent English communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with subject matter expert
-Must be able to write very high-quality, natural, idiomatic English independently
-Fluency in Japanese (reading and writing) is a plus!
