Electrical Engineer
Trillium Staffing is now seeking an Electrical Engineer for global company that specializes in the manufacturing and service of industrial cranes, lifting equipment, and related services.
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing electrical motor controls for overhead cranes and hoists, and handling applications and specifications for magnetic motor starters, relays, and AC inverters. This role involves supporting the engineering department in all stages of product development, including the creation of product designs, production drawings, schematics, bills of materials, and programming.
Responsibilities:
-Calculate wire sizes and overload protection for crane models up to 800 volts DC and 4160 volts AC, based on customer specifications, using relevant electrical codes and company standards.
-Collaborate with other engineers, service technicians, and departments to resolve manufacturing issues, both in the shop and in the field, by researching, defining, and communicating solutions.
-Prepare single-line diagrams, panel layouts, and interconnect drawings based on schematics or customer-provided information.
-Specify and size components/BOMs by reviewing company standards and vendor information.
-Provide design improvement recommendations by suggesting functional enhancements or cost-saving solutions to the Chief Engineer.
-Modify or improve existing circuit designs to address field issues, material obsolescence, or other customer-defined needs.
-Design electrical controls for motors and drives, ensuring compliance with electrical codes, clearances, and company electrical standards, while coordinating with mechanical engineering and manufacturing when necessary.
-Develop connection/cable diagrams and general arrangement drawings using company standards and electrical codes.
-Be available for travel to customer sites to attend meetings or troubleshoot control system issues if major problems arise.

Role is open to college graduates. Salary range is $85,000-95,000 based on experience.

-Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET).
-3 to 5 years of experience in electrical engineering/drafting, including proficiency in AutoCAD 2016 or Zuken E3. PLC and HMI programming experience, as well as variable frequency drive (VFD) setup, is preferred.
-Experience with Rockwell, Siemens, or Danfoss PLC/VFD programming is preferred.
-Strong knowledge of and experience applying the National Electrical Code (NEC).
