Quality Engineer

Trillium Staffing is now seeking a Quality Engineer in East Tawas!

Quality Engineer is responsible for maintaining the quality standards of the company’s products and ensuring that production processes meet required specifications. This role involves implementing quality control systems, conducting inspections, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control and Testing:
-Conduct inspections and tests on raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods.
-Monitor product quality throughout the production process to identify and resolve any quality issues.
-Use various testing methods such as statistical analysis, root cause analysis, and process control techniques to ensure product compliance with standards.

Process Improvement:
-Analyze production data to identify trends, potential defects, and opportunities for process optimization.
-Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement corrective actions and improvements.
-Develop and implement preventive measures to reduce defects and improve efficiency.

Documentation and Reporting:
-Maintain detailed records of quality tests, inspections, and corrective actions taken.
-Prepare reports for management on product quality, process efficiency, and compliance.
-Ensure that all quality documentation is in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Compliance and Standards:
-Ensure products meet the required industry standards, such as ISO, FDA, or other relevant certifications.
-Conduct internal audits to ensure that manufacturing processes comply with quality standards.
-Work with external regulatory bodies to facilitate inspections and certifications.

Collaboration:
-Work closely with cross-functional teams (R&D, Production, Supply Chain) to address quality concerns and collaborate on new product development.
-Provide training to staff on quality control procedures and best practices.

Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis:
-Identify quality problems and perform root cause analysis to determine underlying issues.
-Lead corrective and preventive action initiatives to eliminate reoccurring quality issues.
-Implement and oversee failure analysis procedures.

Required Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, or related field.
-Proven experience as a Quality Engineer or in a similar role.
-Strong knowledge of quality standards (ISO 9001, Six Sigma, etc.) and regulatory requirements.
-Familiarity with quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, CAPA, and root cause analysis.
-Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience in [industry-specific focus,  automotive - familiar with Stellantis
-Certifications in quality management systems (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ).
-Proficiency in quality management software and statistical analysis tools.

-Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
-Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
-Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and technical specifications.
