Mechanical Design Engineering Manager
Trillium Professional is now seeking a Mechanical Design Engineering Manager for direct-hire!
A growing company in Lapeer is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineering Manager to join the team. This role offers the opportunity to lead engineering and management efforts while working in a dynamic environment.
Engineering Responsibilities:
-Calculate dimensions and tolerances for mechanical components.
-Inspect, measure, and test completed parts to ensure compliance with specifications.
-Select and utilize the appropriate tools, machines, and materials for machining work.
-Understand and adhere to customer mechanical standards.
-Design and assemble parts in CAD software.
-Prepare detailed sketches for part illustration.
-Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Management Responsibilities:
-Collaborate closely with employees to ensure clear communication of project intent.
-Set and clarify timelines and goals, identifying long lead items.
-Work with other departments to manage project budgets.
-Provide weekly updates to customers and suppliers on project timelines.
-Ensure accurate job hour tracking.
-Review prints and recommend improvements for efficiency.
-Lead “Lessons Learned” meetings to enhance team knowledge.
-Evaluate and document product changes.
-Maintain job folders with Bill of Materials (BOM) and stock lists.
-Manage “Red Line” changes to part prints and ensure updates are communicated to designers.
Pay rate is $35-40+ per hour, depending on experience. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a growing team and lead engineering initiatives!

Qualifications:
-Experience: 2+ years of experience with 3D CAD software, specifically Autodesk Inventor.
-Manufacturing experience or equivalent skills are required.
-Requirements: Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor, Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel. Must have at least 5 years of management experience.
