Systems Engineering Manager
Trillium Professional is now seeking a Systems Engineering Manager for direct-hire in Chatsworth, CA!
We are looking for a very competent Manager of Systems Engineering to oversee the development of hardware and software throughout the team’s lifespan. Together with excellent cross-functional engagement with other disciplines like program management, production, and operations, this role will offer outstanding functional oversight to members of the Systems Engineering Team. Information on project status, team needs, and developing hazards will be communicated via the role, which will report directly to the director of engineering.
The ideal candidate is a team player with a strong excitement to lead human space flight development and defense programs. This includes striving to improve lifecycle processes, drive to meet or exceed customer expectations, and find creative ways to tackle technical challenges. An effective candidate will be respectful, accountable for their tasks, supportive to the team, and passionate to drive programs with high quality and success. The candidate will have demonstrated skills including team leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and clear flow of information.
Key Responsibilities:
-Lead and mentor the Systems Engineering team, providing guidance and support throughout the lifecycle of hardware and software development.
-Foster cross-functional collaboration with Program Management, Production, and Operations to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
-Communicate project status, team needs, and emerging risks to the Director of Engineering and other stakeholders.
-Drive improvements in lifecycle processes and ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.
-Address technical challenges creatively and effectively.
-Promote a culture of respect, accountability, and high-quality performance within the team.

Required Experience:
-Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (BS/BEng) or equivalent from an ABET-accredited institution.
-10+ years of experience in Aerospace Systems Engineering or a related field.
-5+ years of experience in customer-facing roles.
-5+ years of team leadership experience (direct or indirect).
-U.S. citizenship or authorization to work in the United States.
Desired Experience:
-Master’s degree in Engineering (MS/MEng) or equivalent from an ABET-accredited institution.
-2+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager in a matrix organization.
-Leadership training, graduate certificate, or MBA.
-Experience with NASA, U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), commercial aerospace, or defense programs.
-Project or program management experience, including Earned Value Management (EVM).
-Strong presentation skills with the ability to tailor technical information to various audiences.
-Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying clear and concise information to customers, team members, and leadership.
