Environmental Technician

Trillium Construction is hiring for an Environmental Technician in the Chicagoland area to assist with soil, air, and groundwater sampling for IDOT projects in the surrounding area. 

Duties:
-On-site monitoring, documentation, and managing contaminated soil removal for IDOT projects.
-Assist in surveys and measurement of data.
-Assist Environmental Professionals and Project Managers with complex tasks. 
-Calibrate, operate, and maintain field monitoring equipment
-Transport material samples or documents to laboratory for testing.
-Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects. 
-Tabulate and prepare data for written reports.
-Assist with office administrative duties, such as filing and document control. 

Compensation:
-$20/hr - $35/hr, depending on experience

Qualifications:
-Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. 
-Some experience preferred, but not required. 
-Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. 
-Must be able to work well with clients and co-workers. 
-Good computer (Microsoft Office) and data entry skills. 
-Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history and a reliable automobile.
-Must be comfortable with a constantly changing work environment. 
-Must be flexible with schedule. Occasionally irregular hours/weekends may be required. 
-Occasional local travel may be required, including overnight stays
