Over the past four years, our drivers supporting customer AV programs have accumulated significant
real-world operating exposure:
• Total driver hours: 748,900
• Estimated miles driven: 22.5 million (based on an average speed of 30 mph)
During this period, we recorded:
• 18 total vehicle accidents
• 17 not-at-fault accidents caused by third-party motorists striking our drivers
• 1 at-fault accident over the full four-year period
This results in the following safety metrics:
• 0.80 vehicle accidents per million miles driven
• 2.40 vehicle accidents per 100,000 hours worked
• 0.04 at-fault accidents per million miles driven
To ensure accuracy and comparability, these figures include collision-based vehicle accidents only
and exclude injury-only or non-driving incidents (such as strains, slips, or repetitive-motion
complaints).
Driver Qualification & Hiring Standards (Non-CDL Drivers)
All non-CDL drivers operating non-commercial motor vehicles must meet strict minimum hiring
requirements prior to assignment, including:
• Minimum age of 21 and at least three years of licensed driving experience
• Completion of a standard employment application and employment history verification
• Reference checks to confirm prior work history
• Criminal background screening, as required
• 5-panel non-DOT drug testing
Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Requirements
Drivers must meet defined MVR criteria, including:
• No reckless driving, DUI/DWI, or license suspensions
• Strict limits on moving violations
• Review of prior accident history, including preventable accidents
In addition to pre-hire screening, MVRs are continuously monitored in real time using SambaSafety,
providing immediate visibility into new violations or license status changes and enabling prompt
corrective action when needed.
