Job Description

Trillium Staffing is looking for Machine Operators in Saginaw, MI!

These are temp to hire positions. Pay is $16.50\hr. Machine Operator is to perform routine set-up and operate machinery in sheet metal department.  Machine operations, quality checks and managed according to established work instructions and company standard practices.

Essential Job Functions include:
-Achieve and maintain a minimum competency score of “Machine Operator” and thereafter strive to improve score as outlined in the machine operator skills competency scoring tool.
-Learn and understand the work flow of the department, staging, and delivery of parts.
-Learn and operate computer bar coding software.
-Identify type, finish, and gauge of sheet metal materials.
-Monitor process, materials, and surroundings to detect or assess problems. Perform programming of computer numerical controls (CNC).
-Maintain quality standards as identified in work instructions.
-Conduct tests and inspections of products or processes to evaluate quality and conformance.
-Review work orders and prints to ensure order is complete and work is performed according to specifications.
-Detect and report defective or questionable conditions to department supervisor.
-Apply identification markings.
-Ensure order quantity is correct.
-Maintain established efficiency standards.
-Participate in daily team meetings and data collection activities. Communicate with supervisors and peers.
-Keep machines and work area clean and organized.
-Stage work and deliver completed parts per established work instructions.
-Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks on machines as required per preventative maintenance schedule documents.
-Learn the Engineering Change Request (ECR) process in order to enter change requests, with little to no assistance.
-Serve as an active member of the Business-Focused Team (BFT) and follow all rules and disciples of the BFT process.
-Accommodate short notice schedule changes that are necessary in maintaining on-time deliveries.
-Machine operators should expect schedule changes due to, but not limited to: unplanned machine down- time and absences.

Qualifications

-Proficient in the use of all hand tools, and auxiliary equipment related to assigned machine
operations. Tools used include, but are not limited to: notcher, pedestal grinder/sander/polisher,
hand grinder, multiple hand tools, inspection gauges and templates.
-High School diploma, preferred
-Reading comprehension sufficient for following work instructions an writing ability to prepare basic production reports
-Mechanical aptitude
-Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole number
-Ability to use caliper, protractor, gauges, read a scale, and read a tape 1/32”
-Basic computer proficiency sufficient enough to perform functions re machine tasks
