Product Engineer needed in Ann Arbor!

Job Description

Trillium Professional is looking for a Product Engineer to join our small but mighty Ann Arbor-based team. You’ll succeed in this role if you are a self-starter with strong problem-solving skills, highly organized, thoughtful, strategic, and detail oriented.  Excellent written and verbal communications skills are a must.  Time management and the ability to galvanize the right people around an opportunity or problem is also crucial.  This candidate will manage the product lifecycle for one of our two product lines, engage the R&D team, perform verification test activities, update product requirements based on customer input, and work with the manufacturing and purchasing teams to improve product design, manufacturability and quality. 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY
Duties and Responsibilities, but not limited to:
Analyze cost and return on investment for product ideas.
Work closely with R&D team to design, validate, and implement product ideas.
Work with purchasing to select alternate parts as the supply chain shifts, or customer requirements move.
Lead products from development through manufacturing release and obsolescence.
Generate engineering and manufacturing documentation as needed (DFMEA, DVPR, Drawings, PFMEA, Work Instructions).
Be self-motivated, with a drive to complete projects and document results.
Thrive in a small team environment.
Work with Manufacturing Engineers to develop Quality Control measures to ensure ongoing product reliability.
Experience within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Product Development experience (3+ years)
Product Management experience (3+ years)
CAD (SolidWorks) experience, GD&T
LabView/Python experience desired
Automation experience desired
Ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and multi-task
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Extremely proactive with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
Highly organized, reliable, and resourceful
Flexible to travel to suppliers or customer locations as required.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
