Job Description

Trillium Technical is now seeking 1st and 3rd Shift (11pm - 7am) Robotics Engineers for direct-hire placement!

The Robotics Engineer will provide technical expertise for robotic applications to ensure product quality and continuous improvement to the manufacturing processes.
• Responsible for troubleshooting robotic systems, performing preventative and predictive maintenance on systems to minimize downtime, while keeping safety as a priority.
• Provide training and technical support to Production and Skilled Trade Team members.
• Program complex robotic systems ensuring operator safety devices function properly.
• Perform preventive or corrective maintenance on robotic systems or components.
• Evaluate the efficiency and reliability of industrial robotic systems, reprogramming or calibrating to achieve maximum quantity and quality.
• Ability to perform electrical diagnosis, recommend repair or repair as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation resulting in shared knowledge of issues and lessons learned.
• Troubleshoot and train others on identifying root causes of equipment failures. Ensure that line is built in accordance with all aspects of the latest version of the build standards.
• Utilize good working knowledge of all technologies used in the development and build of automated assembly lines. Execute equipment efficiency studies, through time and motion studies, or standard data to ensure effective line balancing.
• A valid Driver’s License is required for day travel with the occasional overnight stay.  A valid passport or equivalent which allows the Robotics Engineer to travel to attend customer and potential integrator/supplier meetings is necessary.  Travel and overtime may be required to meet customer expectations. 
• Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to lifting equipment (up to 40 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking. Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment commonly used in the workplace.
• May be exposed to elements such as temperature and noise during time spent in the plant.
• Shift changes and weekend overtime may be required periodically to properly balance the skill sets of each shift in order to protect the customer demand.

• Associate degree from an accredited technical college or post-secondary school with emphasis on Robotics.
• Two years minimum with robots and PLC control systems in a robotic welding process environment, preferably in an industrial automotive setting.
• Fanuc DCS Certification preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD, CAD viewer programs.
• Familiarity with Engineering and Quality practices and procedures including PPAP, blueprint reading, GD&T, use of measuring instruments, checking aids/fixtures, mechanical testing, etc.
• Experience/knowledge in robotic programming for welding processes (Fanuc programming an asset).
• Familiarity with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
• Knowledge of GM weld standards and specifications.
• Knowledge of AWS and RWMA standards.
• Computer skills in Microsoft office suite.
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot equipment, processes, etc.
• Ability to work flexible hours in a fast-paced environment to meet customer requirements
• Must be able to interact effectively with other team members
