Safety Manager

Trillium Construction is seeking a Safety Manager with a strong background in ironwork, millwright work, and fall protection for a project in Apple Grove, WV. The role is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing all safety policies and will support field crews, lead incident prevention efforts, conduct training, and promote a strong safety culture across all teams. 

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily safety practices and ensure compliance with company, client, and regulatory safety standards.
- Conduct jobsite inspections, hazard assessments, and corrective action follow-up.
- Support crews performing ironwork, millwright duties, heavy rigging, and elevated work to ensure safe operations.
- Provide leadership and guidance on fall protection systems, safe lifting, and high-risk tasks.
- Lead incident investigations and root-cause analyses and maintain documentation.
- Deliver safety meetings, toolbox talks, and specialized training.
- Review JSAs, lift plans, permits, and safety documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate closely with supervisors, foremen, and craft workers to identify and mitigate hazards before work begins.
- Monitor PPE use, equipment condition, and compliance with company policies.
- Promote a proactive, positive safety culture through coaching and consistent field presence.

Pay: $40
Per Diem: $110 / day for all 7 days
Schedule: Mon - Sat, 60+ / week

Qualifications
- Extensive background in ironworking, millwrighting, or rigging (required).
- Strong knowledge of fall protection systems, elevated work, and rescue procedures.
- Prior leadership experience in a safety role on industrial, refinery, construction, or turnaround projects.
- Ability to read drawings, understand load handling, and support critical lift planning.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Certifications
- OSHA 30 (Construction or General Industry)
- OSHA 510 / 500
- First AID/CPR/AED
- Fall Protection Competent Person
- Rigging or Signal Person certification (NCCER, CIC, or equivalent)
- HAZWOPER 40
- TWIC Card
- Safety related degree or CHST/CSHO
- Bilingual a plus
