Harness Design Engineer

Trillium Professional has a long-term opportunity for a Harness Design Engineer (5 -7 years experience only) in Sterling Heights, MI. 

Responsibilities to Anticipate for this role:
-Designing electrical wiring harnesses to include component selection for connectors, back shells, sleeving, braiding, sealants, boots, transitions, etc.
-This position will be determining harness layout through vehicle and branch points for multi-branch harnesses.
-Designing to environmental requirements for temperature, shock, vibration, submergence and exposure to harsh chemicals.
-Work directly in Capital Harness System (CHS) (aka Mentor Graphics) software, specifically in Harness XC, Capital Logic and Capital Topology

Secondary Tasks:
-Working with CAD draftsman to route harnesses in 3D CAD tools (Pro-E and/or NX).
-Will also work with CAD team to develop release drawings for harnesses, electrical installations, wiring diagrams and related.
-Works with Systems Engineers to define whole vehicle pin-level interconnect.
-Works with Physical Architects to define harness routing channels, space claims in the vehicle.
-Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Sought:
-Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering is required.
-Minimum of 5+-year work experience is desired in an engineering role.
-Ability to balance cost/schedule/technical priorities.
-Experience with Microsoft Visio desirable.
-Experience with Capital Harness System (CHS) (aka Mentor Graphics) software, specifically in Harness XC, Capital Logic and Capital Topology required.
-Experience with Pro-E Creo desirable.
-Experience with NX desirable.
-Basic proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
-Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
-Ability to use Engineering Development and Test Tools.
-Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with interdisciplinary teams.
-Strong multi-tasking skills.
-Strong record keeping skills.
-Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
-Proficient in MS Office suite.
