Senior HR Business Partner
Trillium Technical is now seeking a Senior HR Business Partner for direct-hire in Plymouth, MI!
Will work 1 day in the office, Wednesday. Annual salary is $72K-$93K per year.
Under limited direction, manages the daily HR operations of location/plant or business unit to ensure a positive work environment for all associates. Supports customers including manufacturing leadership teams and other key stake holders to ensure all HR related activities are executed and meeting expectations. Oversees the on-going safety and other corporate services duties for assigned area of responsibility. Leads cross functional and/or regional projects as assigned.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
-Manages broad functional areas of Human Resources at the plant level or regional salaried group/corporate level based on assigned business unit(s), including onboarding, engagement, performance management, record keeping and all related HR matters for population.
-Serves as a consultant, coach and mentor to plant management on human resources-related issues including all legal, associate relations, and employee engagement activities with support and guidance from corporate team.
-Communicates plant/business unit needs proactively to the HR corporate department and seeks to develop sound, integrated solutions taking care of specific local issues while balancing as a whole.
-Formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to plant/business unit management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization.
-Maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit’s financial position, operations, annual and mid-year plans, KPls and other critical items specific to plant/business unit.
-Regularly consults with line management, team leaders, group leaders and others; provides HR guidance, as appropriate on a variety of topics.
-Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies (including labor relations).
-Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. -Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations including appropriate documentation and follow-up with leadership teams as needed.
-Oversees various audits - both internal and external to ensure all items are clear, addressed and adhered to for a strong process and reporting standpoint
-Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
-Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
-Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
-Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
-Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation while partnering with HR corporate team and others, as needed.
-Provides guidance and input on workforce planning and succession planning.
-Maintains manpower planning data and ensures operational objectives are being met; May report information to key management.
-Identifies training needs and individual management coaching needs.
-Records and retains training records, as required.
-Participates in evaluation and monitoring of success of training programs.
-Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
-Regularly reviews status, effectiveness and expectations with plant leaders/business unit customers.
-Develops and implements Employee Relations policies, in conjunction with others.
-Coordinates and assists with leading Safety Activities in the plants/location(s) assigned.
-Manages the General Affairs activities for the respective area, as needed, which may include: vending services, pool cars, lawn/facilities maintenance, cleaning service providers, travel coordination, and other related activities.
-Manages grievance procedures to handle complaints that result from disputes with employees over work rules and interpretation of policies; Councils both sides towards an agreeable and understandable resolution.
-Consults with corporate HR to communicate wages, benefits, work rules and policies; May assist with various steps of process.
-Support all KPl’s as related to HR and plant functions.
-Performs related duties as assigned or as situation dictates.

Qualifications:
-Associates Degree in Human Resources or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
-5-10 years of human resource experience, preferably in an automotive or manufacturing environment including demonstrated knowledge of employment law and applicable regulations.
-Familiarity with and knowledge of various MS Office tools.
-Customer Service and the ability to consistently demonstrate strong commitment to internal and external stakeholders needs, feedback, interests and desires; seeks solutions with a positive approach to prioritizing the work and issues at hand.
-Strong team and relationship building skills including conflict management and the ability to work with multiple and sometimes conflicting viewpoints towards mutual respect and understanding.
-Ability to delegate and deploy resources, tasks and/or assignments to others cross-functionally.
-Communication skills including active listening, effective presentation skills; demonstrates a high level of written and verbal skill including the ability to explain materials to others in an understandable and logical manner and facilitate productive meetings/discussions.
-Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents and information readily.
-Individual must have strong accountability for the work, personal and professional credibility, and display honesty and integrity in the job.
