Job Description

Machine Lead position available in the Livingston County, MI area, working at our client location who is a leading area manufacturer. Direct hire opportunity on 2nd shift, 2:00 p.m. to 10:10 p.m.

Candidate coordinates manufacturing cell activities to ensure the successful achievement of daily production goals for the cell.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for the appropriate machine:
-Sets up machine work cells per documented set-up instructions
-Ensures that all work cells have required resources to continuously produce parts
-Prepared work cells ahead of time for tool changes. 
-Ensures production cells are continuously operating within designated parameters
-Trains new operators to the appropriate Level 1 and Level 2 OJT checklists
-Monitors and reports daily production results and performs hourly LPMS checks
-Ensures that all safety measures are followed by employees
-Reports employee infractions to Team Lead as needed
-Covers lunches and breaks for assigned operators to ensure continued quality parts throughout the shift.
-Ensures the operators are following all required procedures, including first piece inspection and hourly quality checks
-Verify scrap pieces for ability to rework.
-Weekly 5S Audits
-Daily LPA’s
-Tooling TPM
-Coach during Tool Change
-Participates in Workshops/Lean Basic Projects
-Communication – Pass Down from Shift to Shift
-Temperature readings for large presses
-Gauge repair Checks (calibrated, no missing pins or clamps, completely functioning)
-Ability to be a first responder and perform AED
-Able to lift/pull up to 100 lbs

Knowledge of basic problem solving

Knowledge of TS-16949/ISO140001

Strong leadership combined with high self-motivation
Problem Solving – the ability to recognize a problem and find viable solutions through a logical deductive reasoning process take to Team Lead for decision
Decision Making – the ability to consider many alternatives and discuss with Team Lead the most appropriate method prior to implementing
Adaptability – the ability to adjust effectively to new work processes or project requirements
Active Listening – interact with Team Leads, Supervisors, Scheduler, Managers

Educational/Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
2-3 years automotive manufacturing experience

Language Skills:
Must be able to clearly convey information and ideas through both verbal and written media. 
Must be able to read and understand written ideas and information
