Unfortunately like most organizations, many members of our internal staff, clients, and field employees have been affected by this horrible disease. Their stories and experiences have inspired us to do our part to bring awareness and raise money for a cure!
“Breast Cancer awareness, prevention and hopefully a cure is very near and dear to me. I have had several family members and close friends affected by this deadly disease. My grandmother is a breast cancer survivor. She had a mastectomy at 81 and is currently cancer free. My mother in-law also has fought this battle…twice! She had a mastectomy and was cancer free for almost 5 years when she was diagnosed again with breast cancer but this time it was a different type. She once again had a mastectomy and then reconstructive surgery. My Aunt is currently in the fight as well. We are hopeful that her breast cancer was caught early enough and that she will make a full recovery. She has managed to keep her spirits up and is staying positive.
Many years ago I lost a very near and dear friend due to a misdiagnosed breast cancer. She was in her early 30’s and suffering from severe back pain. Her doctor never ordered a mammogram, he just kept prescribing her medication. Her cancer had gone undetected and eventually masticated to her backbone and she was gone within 6 weeks. Every woman should be her own advocate for her health care. Be insistent if you think something is wrong or could potentially be wrong. I am thankful that due to the history of breast cancer in my family my doctor ordered a mammogram baseline at 35.
I now participate in several fund raisers through out the year to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness. There are so many different ways you can get involved. I play in a women’s golf classic that raises over $8000 each year and that money stays local in Genesee County. I am also proud to be a part of the “Pink Night” each year in Flint, Michigan. Last year we raised over $54,000!! I am honored to walk each year in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk as well in honor of my friend Rhonda’s mom. We all wear shirts in memory of her.”

“The compilation of progressive client companies, reliable field staff, and dedicated in-house employees, made Act I a great fit for an addition to the Trillium brand of companies. Originating as a single office operation ourselves 30 years ago, we were attracted to the company culture and drive that Act I is today. We’re delighted to welcome the Act I staff, clients, and employees to our group and are eager to lend them access to the same support and tools that has allowed us to be recognized in the Top 25 Industrial Staffing Companies” states René Poch, CEO of Trillium.
The additional six offices acquired through Act I Staffing, will now compliment the three existing Trillium offices in the state of Ohio. With a continued focus on light industrial, clerical, and professional recruiting services, clients in the greater Columbus, Ohio area will receive additional recruiting support with access to Trillium’s existing talent pool of over 800,000 candidates.
The former Act I Staffing offices will continue to be led by Regional Vice President Rhonda Tisko. Rhonda brings over 20 years of staffing experience and will remain a vital component to leading the growth of the Columbus market.

Today, most in-person job fairs are far less successful than they were even just a few years ago. What candidates want to spend half a day getting ready, printing a resume, driving across town, waiting in line to speak with someone, only to turn around and drive back home? Only those who know there is a direct benefit to them and that they’ll have an increased chance of being hired for their dream job. So how do you make that happen? Just like this…
Each industry and set of positions has it’s own set of unique recruiting challenges. Certain skill sets just aren’t likely to engage in an in person job fair. For those technical and more professional candidates, consider hosting a virtual or online job fair. This will appeal to passive candidates who are in confidential job searches or unable to attend your event.
