Our client, a leading designer and manufacturer of electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding and antenna solutions for the automotive & aerospace industries is seeking a Resident Engineer to join their growing team!
Job Description
•Provide on-site Customer support. •Represent Customer’s interests and position on program issues; be aware of Customer’s programs and system requirements. •Coordinate / lead / participate in engineering meetings with Customer and related system •Prepare and issue PDT meeting minutes; prepare and present timely responses to action items. •Participate in weekly Customer Program Team Meeting; review project time lines and recommend actions to ensure Customer deliverables are met. •Assist Customer to define system requirements; resolve system issues; work with respective “owners”; initiate change requests. •Generate engineering documentation to release Laird parts into Customer’s system. •Investigate and recommend design and packaging alternatives; participate in design reviews; participate in FMEA process; recommend additional development and testing activities as necessary. •Provide technical support across disciplines and/or platforms to optimize packaging requirements. •Carry out special projects; recommend procedures / steps to improve efficiency and Customer satisfaction. •Support Customer build and launch activities. •Provide intelligence / business opportunities to Customer Account Manager. •Ability to communicate GM requirements and direction to the Laird Team.
Qualifications
Required Skills: •Bachelor degree in Engineering, preferable Mechanical or Electrical. •Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a related position, preferably reception technology. •Knowledge of the GM EWO change system a strong plus. •Knowledge of Team Center a plus •Ability to support antenna field testing a plus •Preferred – understanding of the impact of vehicle structures and interfaces on antenna performance – experience of electromagnetic compatibility design, development or testing – experience with requirement definition using structured analysis methods. •Good written and oral communication skills (clear and concise communication of technical information). •Good interpersonal and organizational skills (work well in a team; manage multiple projects). •Willing and able to work under pressure (meet schedules; maintain high output). •Standard business computer skills to include experience with spreadsheets and basic graphing software. •Ability to travel to customer facilities including some international travel
