Our client, a leading provider of high-quality automotive audio, video, navigation and control systems is seeking a Resident/Release Engineer to join the company.
Job Description
Release Engineer:
To be the main (single point) engineering contact between the customer and the company. Work directly with design teams, the customer, and their suppliers to design and implement the best infotainment products possible and establish superior electrical, mechanical, and acoustic interfaces to said products. To look out for the customers best interest at all times.
Duties 1. Establish and support clear engineering and design communication between the company, the customer and customer suppliers. 2. Attend and/or coordinate various customer design reviews, program and group meetings, internal design review and program meetings, and various supplier’s design reviews and program meetings. Make presentations; take notes, and write meeting minutes as needed. 3. Define, modify, and create specifications. Ensure specifications are being met. 4. Release and track parts via customer systems. Write and get EWOs (Engineering Work Orders) approved. Define, modify, and create BOMs (Bills of Materials), parts lists, and part change logs. 5. Support the customer’s systems and vehicle level validation. Provide initial analysis on validation failures using software debugging tools as needed and communicate the findings to the engineering team. 6. Define, modify, and create DFMEA/DRBFMs, math data, dimensional drawings, vehicle schematics, PADs (Product Assembly Documents), service procedures, owners manuals, etc. 7. Define, modify, and create component validation test plans and review them with the customer. 8. Attend and/or support pre-production virtual and physical builds as needed/required. Root cause build issues and implement solutions in a timely manner. 9. Attend and/or support production launches as needed/required. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of three years experience in the automotive industry working with audio products, electronics or acoustics. Must have strong general mechanical skills and aptitude. Also prefer understanding of automotive customers databases and systems, plastic molding and metal forming, fasteners and wiring. Experience with E-Square, EWO’s, and CAL-DS strongly desired. Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, email systems, and preferably customer databases and systems
