Job Description

Trillium Staffing is seeking a Finishing Operator that ensures that pistons complete anodize, phosphate, and skirt coating process to product specifications.  That entails making sure that all components of the process are running to specified process parameters, while possessing the ability to do a reasonable level of troubleshooting to correct the process.  Possess the ability to set up anodize and skirt coat machines and to perform the necessary quality checks, as well as a basic knowledge of statistical methods.  Additionally, the operator has responsibility for phosphate machines and end of line ovens. 

Primary responsibilities include:
-Loads line at anodize operation and ensures that the phosphating system performs to specified parameters.  These include pump pressures, nozzle condition and placement, conveyor speed, process tank temperatures, and rinse overflows. 
-Ensures that phosphating process control system is working properly by ensuring that chemicals used for control are in sufficient amount. 
-Operator must also be capable of performing chemical titration to determine the operating condition of the process baths as well as interpreting results and making corrective actions.
-Ensures that the support systems for phosphating; RO water, waste treatment, and phosphate solution filtering are operating to specification.  On RO water system, must be able to know when and how to initiate regeneration process.  Mixes anodizing chemicals, recycling spent anodized solutions.
-Operator must be able to measure the viscosity of the coating material, and to adjust viscosity to specified parameters and be able to set up and change over anodize and skirt coating machinery to the desired piston reference and to see that the equipment is kept in a clean and tidy condition.
-Operator must also be able to perform quality checks chart statistical data pertaining to the anodize and skirt coating processes per work instruction must be able to operate curing ovens.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should possess:
-High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred
- Must have basic knowledge of mechanical systems such as pneumatics, temperature control, and industrial gas trains
-Should also know the difference between standard and metric systems of measurement
-Must understand concept of pH and how it relates to acids and bases
-Ability to pass pre-employment screenings
