Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Operate on public highways, pick-up trucks, stake-body or flat-bed trucks, and both single and double tractor-trailer combinations owned or leased by the Company.

1. Check in with the designated supervisor or plant dispatcher immediately upon start of the work shift and immediately upon returning from each truck run. Call in from each pickup or delivery point to receive any changes or additions to the trucking schedule.
2. Make local runs and over-the-road shipments at the hours required by the Company to meet departure and arrival times of equipment, providing those driving times do not cause driver to exceed the applicable limits as specified by the DOT
3. Secure all loads safely and responsibly for long distance hauling to avoid damage and injury.
4. Comply with all parts of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations as published by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
5. Unload each vehicle driven and put away unless other arrangements are made with the supervisor or dispatcher on duty. Complete daily truck inspections, maintenance, and cleaning.
6. Perform repairs to trucks, trailers, and other mobile shop equipment other than major drive system components such as engines, transmissions, or differentials.
7. Keep work area, tools and equipment clean and orderly.
8. Utilize crane and material handling equipment.
9. Be a safety minded worker who is drug free, dependable, and able to maintain an excellent attendance record.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Maintain DOT physical requirement, maintain current Michigan Commercial Driver License “Group A” with a ”T” endorsement, maintain current DOT Card and Driver’s record of duty status (Logbook), exhibit satisfactory skills in handling the equipment on the highway, and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
