Area Supervisor needed for direct hire with a reputable company in Muscatine, IA!
Job Description
Seeking an Area Supervisor for a direct hire opportunity with our client! As Area Supervisor you would manage and coordinate safety, housekeeping, quality, and production of department.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
-Responsible for safety observations and compliance.
-Execute production schedule.
-Responsible for scheduling man-power needs.
-Identify department needs and resources.
-Perform training as needed.
-Assist in interviewing
-Responsible for job estimating
-Organize and maintain tooling, cutters, inserts, etc.
-Maintain calibration schedule of precision measuring instruments
-Design and verify machine setup
-Program CNC machines using Gibbs CAM
-Administer product and process control.
-Responsible for accident/incident tracking and investigations.
-Facilitate walk through inspections to ensure OSHA compliance.
-Facilitate weekly safety talk trainings.
-Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises employees in the Machine Shop. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
-One-year certificate from college or technical school, or three to six years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportion, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
-Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, drawings, sketches, technical papers and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
-Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
-Computer Skills: GSS, CAM, Spreadsheet and Word Processing Software.
-Ability to lift up to 50lbs. as needed
