A local company is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to directly join their team!

Job Description

The Manufacutring Process Engineer Manager develops and improves manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods.  Must work close with Estimating, Launch Team (Project) Leaders and Business Unit Managers to produce the best in class manufacturing process within the parameters of equipment capability. Provides the necessary engineering skills to support the Company in achieving optimal levels of safety, quality, productivity, and delivery to assure internal and external customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
•Support the Company’s mission, vision, values and goals in performance of daily activities.
•Responsible for plant, facilities and equipment layout and/or work simplification, standardization, time study and similar activities as related to Lean Manufacturing and six sigma concepts.
•Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
•Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. .
•Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities.
•Develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilization.
•Works with supply chain management, estimating and suppliers to ensure lean and efficient MFG processes are in place up front at the RFQ launch phase to meet required launch timeliness and successful completion of programs.
•Evaluates and improves efficiency of manufacturing processes by designing and establishing sequence of operations; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators ensuring efficient utilization/lean concepts from start to finish while training, guiding and mentoring operators.
•Confer with clients, vendors, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, product and product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, or project status.
•Lead equipment evaluations. Assure measurement criteria meet all requirements.
•Offer new ideas and suggestions for improvement. Identify and implement new practices and processes that are “best practices”.
•Explore and monitor new processes and procedures to support customer’s expanding requirements on cutting edge technology and product densification.

Qualifications

•Requires a Bachelors degree in Manufacturing and/or Industrial Engineering
•Minimum of ten (10) years manufacturing experience.
•Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
•Proficient with Computer aided design (CAD) software and Microsoft office software (i.e. Microsoft Project, Personnel scheduling software etc.)
•Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
•Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
•Trained in LEAN principles and a proven track record in applying these principles to reduce waste, balance manufacturing processes and improve productivity.
•Knowledgeable for transitioning product lines between locations, assessing resource planning and training to accomplish transitions.
•Capable of determining what equipment, tooling, materials, methods of manufacturing (may include make/buy-automation decision) and facilities are required to produce a particular product in scheduled quantities.
•Ability to read and write in English and perform mathematical calculations and ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
