Our client, a leading provider of high-quality automotive audio, video, navigation and control systems is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join the company.

Job Description

Quality Assurance Engineer Summary: 

Works closely with transducer/amplifier engineers, Project Managers, Business Manager and customers to conceive, design and prototype automotive audio systems. 
 
Duties
Identifies / recommends new programs based on market research of the automotive industry, benchmarking competitors, customer requirements and identifying new audio technologies.

Performs acoustic tuning using in-house design tools and objective/subjective evaluation of system performance.

Conducts system integrations, implementation and validation tasks for taking prototype audio systems into production.

Continuous VA/VE activity with speaker suppliers.

Fabricates testing for the development and tuning of prototypes.

Determines conditions under which systems tests are to be conducted and sequences and phases of test operations.

Analyzes and interprets test data and prepares technical reports for use by electronic engineering personnel and management.

Prepares and presents necessary documentation, material, reports, etc. for customer engineering meetings. Requests necessary input to Product Development Team in Japan as part of preparation.

Provide design support to FTL in Japan

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (BS.) in Electrical Engineering, Physics or equivalent experience. 

Must possess a minimum of five years audio systems engineering experience. 

Understands acoustics and has a solid working knowledge of analog circuits (including active filters and power amplifiers) .

Practical skills in psychoacoustics and MATLAB are significant pluses.


Language Ability:
Bi-lingual in Japanese

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers.
